The management of Hansa Meyer Global labored intensively and worked out the guidelines which were recorded as principles, values and goals in our mission statement. Throughout this process, the questions, that went beyond the "classical business", arose: "What is especially important to us?" "We are successful and who we can we share it with"?
These discussions and reflections have shown that our particular concerns are about children. Thank God, we are not alone; and we have decided to take the responsibility to address children’s needs and pay special attention to supportive initiatives, donations and other actions. We have therefore committed ourselves to support organizations working for the protection, promotion and positive development of children.
This applies not only to large-scale but also to smaller campaigns or events. Besides generous financial donations, we, for example, have provided the Bremer Engel Foundation in Bremen (Bremen Angels) with a car to support the care of severely ill children. We buy greeting cards for different occasions from SOS Kinderdörfer (“Children's Villages”). Prof. Hess - Children's Hospital was pleased to get a new ECG device as a gift of ours. Also our branches abroad provide support to international projects children can benefit from. Thus, our subsidiary in Bangkok sponsored the Thai Hanseatic School for Life which was established following the tsunami in 2001.
A notable amount of Hansa Meyer Global's Christmas donation 2014 went to the German Association for Child Protection Bremen (Deutscher Kinderschutzbund Bremen e.V.).
In 2015 Hansa Meyer Global supported various organizations, such as Freundeskreis e.V. in Dusseldorf, Aktion MahlZeit in Bremen, Hilfswerk Ostasien e.V. und UNICEF Deutschland financially with a donation.
Since 2007 Hansa Meyer Global also took part with its own team at the soccer tournament and the subsequent benefit gala "Summer Special" of AVS & Friends e.V.. The donations go to AVS & Friends Härtefonds "Hilfe in Not" which is managed by the Bremen Cancer Society.
Our Christmas donation in 2015 was handed over to Aktion Hilfe für Kinder, who care for the development of young people with mental or physical disability. They are also involved in fighting against child poverty and child abuse.
In the future we will also consider that we could interlace the issue "Children Support“ into our activities and events.
